The COOMA Sport EX Plus range is an upgraded semi-metallic/resin brake pad designed to deliver a great balance of strong braking, low noise, light weight and everyday durability.
Sitting above COOMA’s standard Sport EX pads, the EX Plus compound uses premium fibres and pure copper fibres in place of the steel and brass granules used in the standard EX compound. This provides a stronger initial bite while helping improve heat dissipation and reduce brake noise.
Most EX Plus models also use lightweight aluminium alloy backing plates, helping keep weight down without sacrificing performance. Magura versions retain steel backing plates where required for compatibility with the caliper’s magnetic pistons.
A great all-round choice for MTB, trail, road, BMX and general riding where you want quieter braking and good modulation without stepping up to a full-metal pad.

EX Plus is a good choice if you’re looking for a quieter, lighter pad with good initial bite and modulation. For riders regularly tackling long, steep descents or e-MTB use where maximum heat resistance is the priority, one of our COOMA ceramic or full-metal compounds may be the better option.
